Every Person a Missionary is an organic initiative, not an organizational program. It is loosely structured and relies on the initiative and movement of God’s Spirit through people who catch the vision and begin to gather in small cell groups to encourage and accompany one another along the EPAM way.

"What is God doing in the world and how can I help?"

The materials and processes provided here offer various ways for cross-marked disciples to explore this question in their own daily lives and in small communities who gather for Bible study, prayer, and mutual conversation.

The synod’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Operating Principles booklet provides the genesis for Every Person a Missionary; it’s the first tenet of our shared vision. Check out pages 2 and 3 for a description of the role of the missionary according to this vision.

The Journal provides 40 days of focused individual reflection and meditation around Bible texts, daily experience, various media, and spiritual disciplines.

The Bible Study guides cell groups in Bible study, prayer and conversation. It will assist in creating commitment to and caring for one another manifest in mutual accountability, support, and encouragement along the way.

The Retreat assumes 1½ days away as a group to go deeply into the call to live as missionaries at work, at home, in the neighborhood,in all of daily life. It uses the Bible, a variety of learning methods, various media, personal reflection, and creative engagement with one another to facilitate transforming encounter with God’s Spirit.

Please use and distribute these materials as you see fit. More importantly, whether you use these materials or something else, we invite you to enter every situation, read every newspaper, engage every conversation, honor every person with the question "What is God doing in the world and how can I help?"
