Indiana-Kentucky Synod Office

Mission Ambassadors in congregations tell the stories of our ELCA in action around the globe. The visions created through storytelling transport members of congregations to places near and far, meeting people whose lives have been changed through our work as the church together. These stories often inspire our congregation members to become more involved because they feel more connected to this work.

This seminar will equip you to serve as a Mission Ambassador to share stories in your congregation and to help your congregation identify its own stories. You will learn about the various ministries within our I-K Synod and the ELCA at home and around the world. You will learn how to use resources to craft stories that are meaningful to your congregation and to share them using a variety of media, including those that are best suited to your congregation. You will also have the opportunity to work with fellow members from our Indiana and Kentucky mission territory to spread the good news of our hands doing God’s work throughout the world.

For more information on the Indiana-Kentucky Synod Mission Ambassador Ministry, go to the website. If you have an interest in this this free seminar, send an email to or call us at 859-635-2006. We especially hope that pastors will identify potential Mission Ambassadors for their congregations and send us their contact information. The deadline for registration is October 14.

It is expected of rostered leaders that they attend such a workshop every 3 years, and we offer one in this synod every other year.
