SUNDAY SCHOOL @ HOME – 3rd Sunday after Pentecost/June 21, 2020
Bible Passage (for parents)
Do Not Be Afraid (Matthew 10:24-39)
Jesus talks with his friends and followers, his disciples, in today’s gospel and he tells them not to be afraid. He tells them God cares even about the sparrows and God cares for us. God loves us so much that God even knows the number of hairs on our head.

Read:
God loves us more than we can imagine. God wants us to feel safe and secure. Our fears can be calmed knowing how much God loves us. Jesus was with the disciples when they were afraid and he is with us, too.

Isaiah 41:10 says “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” The writer of Psalm 91 tells about many ways God protects us. It says, “Those who love me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know my name. When they call to me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue them and honor them.” Think about the ways God has protected your family.
- What are you afraid of?
- What do you do or what can you do when you are afraid?
- How can you share God’s love with others this week in a way that they can know that they are loved and protected by God?
Closing Prayer
Pray: God, thank you for dads and for all the men in our lives who are kind and loving like you. Help us to always remember that there is nothing that can separate us from your love. Help us especially whenever we are afraid. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
