Dear Rostered Ministers of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod, ELCA,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose light reveals God’s glory.
I am truly grateful for your faithful service and for the many ways you embody Christ’s love in your communities, often amid demanding and unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for your ministry.
Each year, all rostered ministers in the ELCA—whether under call, on leave, retired, or authorized by a synod or the ELCA—must submit a Rostered Minister’s Annual Report to their synod’s bishop. This report offers vital updates on your life and ministry and serves as a key tool for mutual care, accountability, and connection.
In revising these reports, I have placed special emphasis on relationships. I look forward to hearing about your ministry and calling—the joys, struggles, and hopes—as well as your interactions with your families, loved ones, pets, congregations, me as bishop, and our synod. This will help me support you more faithfully and concretely. The updated version also offers an option to request a meeting with me to discuss or pray about any matter, especially urgent concerns.
Please be assured that I am committed to reviewing every submitted report and will confirm once I have reviewed yours. The synod office will notify those leaders who do not submit their reports on time. Only the bishop reviews these reports. I will not share any details without first speaking with you and jointly discerning whether sharing is appropriate. This reflects my deep appreciation for our relationship and my calling to support you in your ministry.
To accommodate various circumstances, separate forms are provided for those under call, retired, and on leave. All rostered ministers must complete and submit this annual report, regardless of their status, to help us stay connected in Christ’s ministry. According to the constitution, retired rostered ministers are to be reviewed at least once every three years by the Synod Council. This triennial review will begin once it is approved by the Synod Council at its April 2026 meeting.
Participation in this process is required. You may share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with or as your time allows, but I hope you will see this as an essential opportunity to communicate directly with your bishop. Please understand this process not as a burden, but as a shared commitment to our ministry and to one another.

4. Submit the finished PDF by email (preferred) or by mail to the synod office, addressed to Bishop Graham, by March 13, 2026.
