Support the Indiana-Kentucky Synod Disaster Response Fund
Disasters don’t wait. Tornados, floods, derechos, wildfires, and hurricanes strike communities with little warning, leaving families and neighborhoods in urgent need of help and hope. In recent years, our region and the broader Midwest have faced an above-average number of disasters, while other regions of the country contend with hurricanes, drought, and wildfire. The need for disaster response has never been greater — and the generosity and flexibility of donors like you is essential to sustaining this vital work.
The Disaster Response Ministry of the Indiana-Kentucky Synod walks alongside communities not just in the immediate aftermath of a disaster, but for the long road of recovery that follows. Through our ministry, we provide:
- Emotional and spiritual care to those impacted by disaster
- Coordination of disaster response teams, including volunteers and congregations ready to serve
- Long-term recovery support, addressing unmet needs and helping families rebuild their lives over weeks, months, and even years
- Resiliency programs, empowering congregations to respond effectively in their own communities
- Supports the Disaster Response Endowment which helps fund the Disaster Response Coordinator, who mobilizes teams, directs resources, and ensures communities hit by disaster receive fast, effective, and lasting help.
- Educational resources and training, ensuring our volunteers are prepared for the increasing number and severity of disasters
To respond quickly and effectively — both immediately and over the long haul — the Synod relies on undesigned gifts to the Disaster Response Fund. When gifts are undesignated, we can deploy resources where they are most urgently needed, whether for immediate relief, long-term recovery, volunteer coordination, or congregational training. Undesignated giving allows us to meet the changing and evolving needs of communities. Every gift to the IK Synod Disaster Response Fund supports communities in Indiana and Kentucky.
Every gift makes a difference. Your support helps ensure that when disaster strikes, the Indiana-Kentucky Synod is ready to respond with faith, compassion, and action — providing practical help, emotional care, and ongoing support until communities are restored.
Give today to support disaster response across Indiana and Kentucky, and stand with communities every step of the way toward full recovery.
