The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus… Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God. Luke 1:30-31, 34-35. (New Revised Standard Version)
Afraid: filled with concern or regret over an unwanted situation.
We are all God’s hands here on this earth and we are asked to trust God while joyfully doing His kingdom work. We should also want to do this work and participate in this work. We will not be called to do same thing that Mary did, but we will be invited to do something. We will be directed into places and situations to do God’s work and, like Mary, we should not be afraid.
Mary brought forth Jesus into this world. We can bring forth God’s love. Let us not be afraid. Let us not have concern or regret for showing God’s love in whatever situation we are in.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for loving us and sending us Your Son, Jesus. With Your help and guidance, send us forth to fearlessly show Your love to the world. Amen.
Wondering While Waiting: Describe a time when you felt that you were part of something bigger, which God was doing in the world.
